We sincerely welcome everyone who has found their way to the Free Korean Association website.

The Free Korean Association is a nonprofit organization founded jointly by North Korean defectors who have settled in the United States and American citizens who share a commitment to freedom and human rights in North Korea and to the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

 

Our association is building a community in which North Korean defectors and the American citizens who support them cooperate and stand in solidarity with one another. We also support the education of the next generation of North Korean defectors so that they can grow into healthy members of a free, democratic society, and we continue education and dialogue aimed at raising awareness in American society of the realities of North Korea and its human rights issues.

 

In addition, we continue our work in cooperation with a range of human rights organizations and civil society groups at home and abroad, working to advance the freedom and human rights of the North Korean people and working toward peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula.

Change in North Korea will not happen overnight. But we believe that small efforts, gathered together can create great change. In this belief the Free Korean Association will continue to fulfill its mission steadily into the future.
