이름: 진선락 출생: 1964년 직위: 자유북한방송 국장 사망일: 2019년 함경남도 요덕군 출신인 진선락은 식량난이 심각했던 2000년대 초 중국으로 탈북했다. 제3국을 거쳐 한국에 정착한 뒤, 자유북한방송 국장으로 5년 동안 일했다. 자유북한방송은 탈북자들이 운영하는 대북방송으로, 북한 주민들에게 자유와 인권, 민주주의에 관한 내용을 매일 방송하고 있다. 진선락은 북한 내부에서 일어난 여러 큰 사건을 단독 보도하며 북한 인권 실상을 알리는 데 밤낮없이 힘썼다. 그러던 중 신장결석으로 입원했고, 신장을 떼어 낸 뒤 투석을 받으면서도 북한 협동농장의 실상을 그린 장편소설 『외뿔이』를 쓰며 병마와 싸웠다. 『외뿔이』는 2019년 7월 그의 마지막 작품으로 출간되었고, 그는 같은 해 북한이 자유를 찾는 날을 보지 못한 채 세상을 떠났다.
